Amidst all the chaos, beauty, order and grace abound, from the spacious to the very small. I paint places and things that touch me...a special place by the river, the smooth roundness of a glazed pot, the rich ruddiness of a pomegranate.
Humble objects, when reflected upon, become heroic and assume an eternal dignity.
My love of color was encouraged and nurtured by my first watercolor teacher. He taught me to see the subtleties in light and shadow, the variations all around us. His work ethic and standards of excellence continue to inspire me. My joy is creating dazzling, juicy images that evoke a remembered instant in time... |
